Pumpkin Carving

We look forward to carving our pumpkins every year.
On Monday, we got together with a group of friends and all the kids carved their pumpkins
Kennedi won "Most Outstanding Pumpkin" (She may have had a little help).
Then last night after the Halloween Carnival at Kennedi's school, Shane's family came over for the "pumpkin competition"....oh yes, who can carve the BEST pumpkin.

I thought everyone did a good job, the competition was pretty stiff this year.

Mine left, Shane's right
But, I think I pulled off the win again this year....sorry Shane.

It Has Come......

Yes, that dreaded day has come......we have cats!

Kennedi LOVES animals and she has been begging for a pet pretty much her whole life. For the last couple years, we would just say "when our house is done", well our house is done and we were out of excuses and we need them for mice.

Our neighbors cat had kittens, and these were the ones she picked out and named herself.

Pumpkin Patch

It's that time of year when everyone visits the good ol' pumpkin patch. We made our visit to the local patch on Sunday with the Cody & Nona Dyreng fam (thought I'd be specific, lots of Dyreng families in Gunnison).

We had fun picking out pumkins of all shapes and sizes.

Payton, Rilee, Talan, Kenna, & Dax
Here's what we ended up with....lots to carve this year.

Then Monday, our house got hit with something yucky. I had the flu, throwing up all day (TMI ??) and then that evening, Kennedi got a fever, and was complaining of ear aches and a soar throat.
She was so sick yesterday, that I took her to the doctor with a 103 temp to find out she has strep throat and both ears are infected....poor thing.
Then this morning, she woke up with a very bloody nose, and IT WOULD NOT STOP!!! She was totally freaked out and crying, and the harder she cried, the more it bled all over my house. I then was starting to panic and had to call Nurse Nona to come over and help get it to stop. FYI....I guess you don't lay down, your supposed to sit up and pinch the nostrils together....who knew??
Anyways, got it to finally stop, then got the blood out of my poor carpet (thank goodness the couches are leather). She is on antibiotics now and is feeling much better. Fingers crossed Dax doesn't catch any of it.

FaMilY VaCAtIoN

Since we didn't have time to do anything really fun with the kids this summer while building our house, we decided to go to California over UEA weekend.

We had the best time!!!

We left here early Wednesday morning and drove the whole way. We got to our hotel in Anaheim and got all checked in and then headed straight for the beach.

The kids absolutely LOVED it!! Kennedi got in and swam with Shane a little and then found lots of sea shells for her "collection".

On Thursday and Friday, we went to DISNEYLANDIt was all decorated for Halloween, which was so cute.

Of Course Kennedi loved it!!! She went on all the big roller coasters - she is fearless (some I was even nervous for). Her Favorite was Splash Mountain (went on it 4 times) and Screamin, the big one over at the California park.

Kennedi got her face painted.... and then we had lunch with all the Princesses. It was really fun for Kennedi. They each came to our table and gave her their autograph and then took a picture with her.

Even though Dax cut his top front teeth while we were there, he was the BEST baby the whole weekend!!

He totally loved all the characters...wasn't scared a bit, it was the cutest thing!!

Celebration Parade.......

They pulled Kennedi out to dance with them......lucky girl.....she was pulled out to dance the day before at the High School Musical parade too.

On Saturday we went to Universal Studios.......
